Saint-Gobain is a world leader in the field of construction and distinguishes itself from the competition thanks to giving special attention to the natural environment. Located in 66 countries, the company’s branches gather specialists in the creation, production, and distribution of building materials using ecological solutions. The increasing popularity of this type of technology has resulted in the requirement to create an online store that will offer consumers more than just purchasing. This is how the idea of building a fully responsive domain www.remontibudowa.pl was born.
The times of complicated solutions in the field of e-commerce have passed, so we concentrated on simplicity and functionality. Therefore, it was a simple decision for us, in this case, to start with the addition of numerous modules whose duty is to facilitate navigation during shopping:
– “New Products” module, which allows you to quickly scan the offer for recently added products,
– the “Recently visited” tab, thanks to which the user can easily return to earlier closed tabs with the offer,
– the “Cart” tab presented with additional graphic elements, showing the current order status from the main page,
– a map showing the location of different stationary stores, which links directly to the list of addresses of Saint-Gobain brand stores,
– the main page displaying with the use of simple graphics the most important functionality of the store from the Customer’s point of view (including personal collection, special sales, and discounts).
Through numerous meetings, a brave decision to expand the offer tab was made, thanks to which customers gained the possibility of quick product search based on the producer’s name. Making a choice results in a transfer to the sub-page containing a short summary of the chosen company and a complete list of offered items.
The product search process has also been considerably simplified. The system enables the correct determination of search criteria, which gradually narrow down the shopping offer. The customer gets a completely personalized offer that meets all of his expectations. This visibly shortens the time of finalizing the purchase.
The search engine has also been expanded with the intelligent option of prompting phrases. This means that by typing in the first letters of the word you are looking for, you will see a list of available products whose name consists of the same sequence of letters. Interestingly, the search engine will learn and memorize with each phrase entered, expanding its range of searched words. The administrator of the store also has access to the database created this way, which allows an additional analysis of the clients’ needs and dynamic adaptation of the offer to the most searched terms.
Saint-Gobain customers are a very demanding group, which is why some of the available functionalities were created with a particular emphasis on the specificity of the construction industry. In particular, the delivery system and data synchronization required special solutions.
The result of this analysis is the creation of a proprietary courier integration module based on the provided API and the integration of the store with ERP and SAP systems. The integration is responsible for such functionalities as order and shipment management and synchronization of customer data. As a result, we have managed to create an efficient system that allows for quick information transfer between the store and the suppliers.
It’s not everything. Conscious of the possibilities offered by word-of-mouth marketing, we offered users the possibility to recommend purchased products. Analyzes prove that e-store customers are willing to trust the opinions of friends or other users to a greater extent than traditional advertising. In this way, we also gained an additional information channel about the store’s offer.
As part of the above solution, the “Contact” module was added. The form consists of individually selected parameters, from which the user can select the issue of interest (e.g. service request, quote service or additional questions regarding the store’s offer). There is also the option of contacting the selected stationary store directly.
Particular attention was also paid to the issue of the security of Clients’ personal data. The store we have launched has an SSL certificate, ensuring the security of transmitted data and their integrity.
As a result of our cooperation with Saint-Gobain, an extensive, fully mobile internet platform has been created that combines many functions. The implementation was complemented by the additional integration of the store with Google Analytics, allowing for ongoing monitoring of brand interest.
