Today, Magento officially announced the release of Magento 2.3. The decision is quite unexpected because the original date of the release of the stable version in October at Magento Live Barcelona was determined for the first quarter of 2019. Many companies have been waiting for the official release of version 2.3 to migrate shops from version 1.9 because of the significant change planned in the system’s architecture. Is it a good idea to implement the new version 2.3?
Let’s recall the most notable functionalities of Magento 2.3:
– MSI (Multi-Source Inventory) or management of multiple warehouses
– PWA Studio as the basis for implementing Progressive Web Apps for Magento
– Page Builder for the Commerce version available in version 2.3.1
– the use of GraphQL
– declarative schema
– new Bulk Web API
– improved indexing
– built-in ReCaptcha and two-stage authorization
More about new functionalities can be read in our previous post here.
It should be remembered that many of these functionalities are still under development, such as MSI or PWA, but certainly the new version of Magento 2.3 is a big leap forward in adapting Magento architecture to the latest solutions available on the market and better system optimization, which is why it is definitely worth it to go in the direction of Magento 2.3.
